Pictures: Over 3,500 Meals Served Up At The 76th Thanksgiving LA Mission
This Thanksgiving marks the 76th anniversary that the Los Angeles Mission serves out a festive meal to the hundreds of unfortunate homeless people who line the city's streets, and there were more than a few famous faces popping up among the volunteers to serve up over 3,500 meals to those in need - not least veteran actor Kirk Douglas who belied his 96 years old age to don a red LA Mission apron and help serve up the good stuff.
With Top Chef winner Michael Voltaggio - who now owns the LA restaurant Ink - in charge of the food preperation, there was no doubt that the meals being served up were top dollar, and so were the cast of volunteers. The stars assembled had a strong acting orientation to them, with TV stars including How I Met Your Mother's Neil Patrick Harris and Chuck's Zachary Levi palling around, whilst Shake It Up's Bella Thorne also put in a turn serving.
Alongside Douglas, stars from the silver screen included The Watchmen's Malin Ackerman and Twilight's BooBoo Stewart who turned out on what was a dry day for the event. In addition to receiving their Thanksgiving meal, the homeless people in attendance were also given a tarp, a tent and a blanket, as well as receiving footcare and examinations from The Los Angeles Christian Health Center.
