Brit Awards - Taylor Swift, Emeli Sande And Jessie J Mumford The Stand Outs As Stars Arrive For The Brit Awards 2013 (Pictures)
But everyone else is dressed down for the informal awards ceremony
It might be the BRIT Awards 2013 tonight, but as far as the press were concerned, it was a star from the US who captivated them as the stars arrived for the UK's musical industry awards showcase this evening in London (February 20, 2013). Much has been made of Taylor Swift and Harry Styles both being at the event tonight, and it's believed that they're to keep kept apart; that's just as well because if he gets a sight of Taylor tonight we reckon he'll be itching to get back together with her.
Swift turned up looking bewitching in this black gown which was see-through down both legs so that you could see her delightful gold wrap high heels. Elsewhere the ubiquitous Emeli Sande was wearing typically dark colour, a common feature of many of her outfits, as she arrived. Sande has recently been confirmed for Wireless Festival this summer; taking place at the Olympic Park where she was pushed down the nation's throats during the Olympic Games, we guess you could call her appearance on the weekend of July 12th-14th a homecoming show.
Ed Sheeran was one of the breakout stars of last year's Brit Awards, taking home best British breakthrough act and and best British solo male artist, but he wasn't up for any categories this year. That seemed to reflect itself in his choice of attire, young Ed rocking up in a pair of Nike trainers to the red carpet! Well, if you can't be bothered being smart you might as well be casual we suppose...
Thankfully Jessie J didn't allow for the fact that she wasn't among the front runners this year stop her from getting dressed up for the occasion. In a pattern repeated by many of her female contemporaries tonight, she turned up wearing black. All very nice and all - but are the Brits a funeral or something!?
As if to prove the point that the Brits are a much more casual affair than their American counterparts the Grammys, Mumford & Sons turned up looking like comepletely different people from the smartened up souls who took home the best album award there. They looked pretty rough, if we're honest. But there we go, we guess they were just comfortable being back on home soil.
