Willie Nelson's Stolen Armadillo and 5 Other Famous Victims of Theft
Willie Nelson's stolen armadillo isn't the only case of celebrity theft, Justin Bieber once lost a hat...
Willie Nelson suffered a fright this week when his stuffed Armadillo, Ol’Dillo was stolen after a Las Vegas concert. Luckily for the country legend, his toy mascot was returned to him on Tuesday morning by its embarrassed and apologetic kidnapper. Whilst Willie was pretty lucky, some other celebrities have been less fortunate when it comes to retrieving their stolen goods and they’ve ended up loosing much more than a stuffed armadillo.
Miley Cyrus was robbed just prior to her 21st birthday
Just days before Miley’s 21st birthday in November last year, the singer was robbed of over $100,000 of jewellery and accessories from her Los Angeles home. Police investigating the incident saw no evidence of a break in and the theft was believed to be an inside job. The incident happened in broad daylight but luckily Miley was not home at the time. The robbery wasn't the first time the Bangerz hit maker has been targeted by thieves. In September 2012 an intruder armed with a pair of scissors attempted to force his way into the singers home but fortunately Miley’s staff were quick to alert police and the intruder was arrested.
Perhaps the most famous incident of celeb related crime involves the group who became known as ‘The Bling Ring’. From October 2008 through to August 2009, this group of teens targeted the homes of Hollywood’s rich and famous including Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and Paris Hilton. Hilton was thought to be targeted by the group on a least five separate occasions, on one of which they were said to have entered her home after finding a key under the door mat. The seven ‘bling ring’ members were individually arrested in connection with the different thefts and five of the group served jail time. The events were later depicted in Sofia Coppola’s movie The Bling Ring starring Emma Watson.

Comedienne Tina Fey was a victim of theft when her laptop, containing some of her new material was stolen from her New York office. Fey believed the incident took place when she was asked to sign for a delivery during her move from her old office in Queens to her new Manhattan digs. When Fey made an appearance on the David Letterman Show she played a surveillance tape of what she thought was a man exiting her Manhattan office with her laptop concealed in a folder. Despite the publicity Fey’s laptop and jokes remain unfound.
