Raven Symone may have revealed she is gay by commenting on more US states legalizing gay marriage. Her remark on Twitter in support of the proposed legislation has sparked speculation regarding the 27-year-old's sexual orientation.
Raven Symone may have tentatively revealed she is gay following news that more US states are legalizing gay marriage. The actress for the first time has indicated she is a lesbian by tweeting on Friday "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you."

Following her tweet, her representatives said ""Raven is not getting married. She was just supporting the fact that she heard on NPR that more states legalized gay marriage today."

She later released a statement, through her representatives which states: "I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted. I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however, am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to."
Symone's sexual orientation came under scrutiny when the National Enquirer published an article, in May 2012, which claimed she was living with America's Next Top Model contestant AzMarie Livingston. Raven responded on Twitter, simply stating: "my sexual orientation is mine, and the person I'm dating to know. I'm not one for a public display of my life."

Symone also said, via Twitter, in May 2012: "I'm living my personal life the way I'm happiest. I'm not one, in my 25 year career to disclose who I'm dating, and I shall not start now.

Symone is best known for appearing aged three on The Cosby Show. She later featured in Dr. Dolittle, alongside Eddie Murphy and she starred in That's So Raven. More recently, Symone has appeared on a number of direct-to-video children's movies and starred in a theatre production of Sister Act in 2012.
