DMX & The Game Weigh In On George Zimmerman Celebrity Boxing Match
Two rappers have offered to lend their names to the George Zimmerman celebrity boxing match just so they can get in the ring with the former security guard. The Game and DMX have both offered to fight Zimmerman.
The Game and DMX have offered to fight George Zimmerman in the upcoming celebrity boxing match, scheduled for March 1st 2014.
The Game has offered to fight Zimmerman in the upcoming celebrity boxing match.
Zimmerman is the security guard who shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February 2012, allegedly in self-defence, and was acquitted during trial last summer. The case was hugely controversial as Zimmerman was accused of racially profiling the teenager, as a result numerous protests were organised throughout the US and attracted the attention of high profile individuals.
Zimmerman and the promoter released a statement in which Zimmerman promised to fight "anyone." The statement read: "We're not looking at it as a race thing. We haven't discussed purple, yellow, white, black."
The Game, appearing on TMZ, accepted the challenge to fight George Zimmerman. The rapper, a.k.a. Jayceon Terrell Taylor, was not officially accepted by the fight's promoter, Damon Feldman. Feldman claimed that The Game was the front runner for the fight but that 4700 people had also responded to Zimmerman's challenge. In response, The Game laughed at Feldman's claims that Zimmerman would be a difficult opponent as he's been training for the upcoming fight. However, as the 34-year-old rapper weighs in at 240lbs and is 6'5, it seems unlikely Zimmerman will have much of an advantage, despite all his training efforts.
DMX has also offered to enter the ring with Zimmerman but the consequences may be deadly.
Another rapper, DMX a.k.a. Earl Simmons, has also expressed interest in fighting Zimmerman. However, he has issued a series of threats whilst speaking to TMZ which may cause Zimmerman to change decision on his opponent. DMX stated he would fight Zimmerman for "every black person who has been done wrong in the system."
He further embellished on his plans whilst in the ring, stating: "I am going to beat the living f**k out him . I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f**k him right up. Once I am done with him, I am going to whip my d**k out and piss on him, right in his mother**kin face." He finally added "Zimmerman is a piece of s**t and that's what he needs to drink."
Feldman initially implicated that DMX may be Zimmerman's preferred opponent but, especially after DMX's comments he may change his mind. Zimmerman will make his decision shortly before the fight, scheduled for March 1st.
The Game has been slightly less graphic than DMX in his offering to fight Zimmerman.
