Hugh Jackman found singing and dancing in 'Les Miserables' more physically demanding than doing stunts for action film 'Wolverine'.
The 44-year-old actor is known for his action-packed roles as the X-Men character in a number of films, but says they were nothing against having to sing and dance in his role as Jean Valjean in the new film adaption of the musical.
He told Hello! magazine: ''It's weird coming from 'Wolverine' that I would find this hard going. But anyone who has done a musical knows, whether you're dancing or not, physically it is the most difficult thing you can do.''
Hugh - who has children Oscar, 12, and Ava, seven, with wife Deborra-lee Furness - is an accomplished Broadway star but admits he initially had doubts over whether he could pull off the role of Jean.
He admitted: ''There was one day when I just couldn't get the notes right. I saw the musical director go off shaking his head. I thought, 'I can't do this'.
''Then my wife said to me, 'If you weren't being challenged then you wouldn't be doing the role.' And she was right. I just gave it my all.''
