Hugh Jackman has landed the role of magician Harry Houdini in a forthcoming Broadway play about his life.

The 'Real Steel' actor is set to portray magician Harry Houdini in the play - which has been penned by 'The Social Network' screenwriter Aaron Sorkin - during the 2013/2014 season, and he is "thrilled" to have landed the part.
He said in a statement: "I have been deeply fascinated by the life of Harry Houdini since I was young, and in many ways I've been preparing for this role my whole life.
"I am thrilled to be collaborating with this collection of artists who are all at the top of their game."
Aaron is delighted to be collaborating with Hugh - who is working on a number of projects, including the next installment of 'Wolverine' - on the forthcoming production.
He explained: "The chance to collaborate with Stephen Schwartz, Jack O'Brien and Hugh Jackman on a new Broadway musical is a huge gift."
