Hot Since 82 - The End
Leeds producer Hot Since 82 delivers a mysterious black and white video for his latest single 'The End' featuring Joe T Vannelli and Csilla. The song features on his debut album 'Little Black Book' which is out now.
The video for the track has been directed by Jamie Childs and opens with a long-haired man using a pickaxe in the middle of a field. There appears to be some sort of flashback and he is seen walking through some isolated countryside holding a flare while covering his face with his scarf. He is later handed the pickaxe by a topless man before spotting a storm brewing overhead. Something appears to strike down from the sky and, as he digs at the earth where it hit, he finds a metallic ball and smiles in a satisfied way. The metaphor or story behind it is not immediately apparent, but it certainly adds to the cinematic vibe of the song and enhances the eeriness brought in by wailing synths and sounds not dissimilar to sirens.
With tracks of this calibre, it's certainly not 'the end' for Hot Since 82, who is currently on tour across the UK and Ireland for his Spring 2014 stretch.
