Metallica closed the second day of the UK's Download festival last night (09.06.12).
The iconic 'Master of Puppets' group played a two-hour set which incorporated a performance of their entire iconic self titled album - known to fans as 'The Black Album' - at the festival, held in Castle Donington in England's Midlands.
The band took to the stage with one of their first ever songs, 'Hit The Lights' before playing 'For Whom The Bell Tolls', Master Of Puppets' and new track 'To Hell and Back'.

'The Vampire Diaries' has been nominated for six Teen Choice Awards, while Justin Bieber and 'American Idol' are in the running for five.
The 'Never Say Never' hitmaker has received the highest individual number of nominations for the annual ceremony - Choice Male Artist, Choice Fashion Icon: Male, Choice Male Hottie, Choice Twit, and Choice Single by a Male Artist for 'Boyfriend' - with hit TV show 'The Vampire Diaries' leading the way overall with six nods.
The drama series is in the running for Choice Fantasy/Sci-fi series, Choice fantasy/sci-fi series actress for both Nina Dobrev and Kat Graham, Choice fantasy/sci-fi TV series actor for Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, with the latter also up for Choice Male Hottie.

Gavin DeGraw was eliminated from the latest series of 'Dancing with the Stars' last night (17.04.12).
The 'I Don't Want To Be' singer left the show after finding himself in the bottom two for the third week in a row with a dismal score of 19 on Monday (16.04.12), and Gavin admitted he and professional partner Karina Smirnoff would be lucky to survive the drop.
He said: ''That would be quite an escape. We're experiencing an Alcatraz moment right now, a lot of water and a lot of Sharks.

The 'Big 4' of heavy metal - Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax - joined forces onstage in England last night (08.07.11).
The 'Big 4' of heavy metal joined forces at the Sonisphere festival in Knebworth, Southern England, to play a cover of Diamond Head's 'Am I Evil' - the first time members of all four groups had performed in England together.
The day had started earlier with Anthrax playing a set, followed by Megadeth â which includes ex-Metallica guitarist Dave Mustaine â before Slayer took to the stage.
