Oscar winner DAME Helen Mirren plans to play her great-aunt Lena in a movie based on letters exchanged between her Russian ancestors after the Russian Revolution.
The 62-year-old star will reenact the events which took place post-1917 in Russia between her own grandfather and great-aunt.
Mirren - born Illiana Lydia Petrovna Mironova - says, "That was one of the most exciting things I've ever done - ever.
"It was so strange to be playing one's great-aunt and to watch and listen to another actress playing me as a little girl... not spooky, just very moving, very emotional."
The Miranov Legacy has already been broadcast as a radio play.
