Helen Mirren is not a woman to turn down difficult roles. She has, after all, played three different Queens of the United Kingdom and, in a voice part, the Queen of Egypt. Yet there is nothing 69-year-old Mirren would like more than to star in a Fast and Furious film and do her own driving stunts.

Mirren revealed her secret desire to appear in a Fast and Furious movie in an interview with Yahoo. She has pretty good credentials too, having starred in Red and its sequel as a retired, but still very deadly, secret agent.

"My great ambition is to be in a Fast and Furious movie. I so want to be a mad driver in a Fast and Furious movie," Mirren said. "My claim to fame is I always do my own driving - I was on Top Gear, and I did [my lap] in a very good time. I keep putting it out there, and they never ask me. I'll be in Fast and Furious 8."

Mirren also claimed her desire to be in Fast and Furious was because of her love of a certain male star of the films - Vin Diesel

"I have to say Vin Diesel is brilliant. I love Vin Diesel. He's a great guy, smart - I love him," Mirren revealed. "It's partly because of him I'd like to be in one, but also the driving. I'd also love to do another Red-type movie, because those are such fun to do."

Mirren is currently promoting her latest film, Woman in Gold. The drama is based on a true story and centres on the struggle of Maria Altmann, an elderly Holocaust survivor. In 2004, Altmann won a court case against the Austrian government that had refused to relinquish a Gustav Klimt portrait, Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I, which had belonged to her family before being taken by the Nazis during their occupation of Austria.

Mirren plays Helen Altmann and Ryan Reynolds stars as her lawyer, E. Randol Schoenberg. They are supported by an all star cast including: Daniel Brühl (Rush), Katie Holmes (The Giver), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Max Irons (The White Queen), Charles Dance (Imitation Game), Elizabeth McGovern (Downton Abbey) and Jonathan Pryce (Evita).

Woman in Gold is released on 1st April in the USA and on 10th April in the UK.
