Britain's Got Talent has set the Guinness World Record for being the most popular reality television format in the world, having been adopted by 59 different shows worldwide. The announcement was made today (7th April) on the Guinness World Record website.

Simon Cowell created the format for Britain's Got Talent.

Britain's Got Talent was first broadcast on ITV in 2007 and an eighth series is expected to air this year. The format, which was created by Simon Cowell, has been used in versions worldwide. Cowell serves as a judge on the UK version of the show and an executive producer on the US version.

Heidi Klum has renewed her membership to the single ladies’ club. The supermodel has split from her bodyguard boyfriend Martin Kirsten after a year and a half together. The couple began dating shortly after Klum filed for divorce from Seal back in 2012. Klum and Kirsten's relationship was made official (media official, that is) in September of the same year. In addition to the breakup, Klum (40) and Kirsten (41) are also ending their professional relationship.

Klum and Kirsten have been together since late 2012.

However, according to People, there are no hard feelings between them and it sounds like an amicable split. "Martin was there for her during a challenging time in her life and it was something she will always be grateful for," says a friend close to Klum.

The reality singing competition landscape is changing and Heidi Klum’s appointment to the America’s Got Talent judging panel is probably the starkest proof. But with televised talent contests floundering left and right, what made the successful model and entrepreneur decide to branch out of fashion? Apparently, Ms Klum wants to share her experience and the business strategies that got her to where she is now. Even her occasional nuggets of wisdom during AGM’s premiere last Tuesday however, couldn’t help the show keep its head above the water.

America’s Got Talent saw some of its lowest ratings for a season opener this week - down 16% among Adults 18-49 from last year’s Season 7 premiere on May 14, 2012. according to Deadline. Still, it did see a mild increase in viewership from last season’s opening numbers – and we do mean very mild, with just 6% up to 11.102 million watching. Obviously, something is a miss. It should be pointed out that, however low the ratings were, America’s Got Talent was still the most watched program of the night. However, even with the addition of Klum and Mel B to the judging panel – which this year also includes vets Howard Stern and Howie Mandel – AGM is struggling to make up for lost ratings.

AGM’s competitor, The Voice, also took a beating this week. The 8 PM show slipped 6% from its live original at 9 PM last week to hit a Tuesday results show low. NBC still managed to take the night in terms of ratings, but it’s obviously an uphill battle at this point. And with the original reality talent competition – American Idol – having just capped off its worst ratings season yet – it’s becoming increasingly clear that the talent shows are fighting a lost war at this point. With or without the drastic lineup changes, the future is looking bleak.

Heidi Klum was mobbed by equal rights protestors bearing Heidi Hate messages across their naked torsos during a crucial moment on 'Germany's Next Top Model' yesterday (May 31st 2013).

The supermodel was about to name the winner of the modelling competition on live television when two topless female demonstrators for FEMEN burst onto the stage to shout at her with the angry message on their chests reading 'Heidi Horror Picture Show'. The organisation they were rallying for was a Ukrainian group who regularly coordinate naked and topless campaigns in defence of equality between men and women. Though the incident was cut from the live recording, Heidi kept her cool and quipped to the audience, 'I have just been seeing boobies in front of me. Too bad it happened at this special moment!'

The protestors seemed to be the only ones who disliked Heidi, however, with 'Gangnam Style' rapper Psy Tweeting a picture of the two of them with the caption: '[Heidi Klum] stoped by my green room and said "ThankU psy". She's so beautiful & nice at the same time!! #Unfair lol'. Heidi also Tweeted a photo of herself and Bruno Mars saying, 'Thank you for a great performance on my show last night in Germany [Bruno Mars] You are a really cool dude!'

Have you ever woken up an thought to yourself “I want to fly into space with Leonardo Dicaprio?” Let’s be honest, we all have and, at a charity auction at Cannes this week one lucky (and very, very rich soul) made that dream a reality. A bidder at the AmFAR Cinema Against AIDS gala shelled out $1.5 million for the opportunity to sit next to the Great Gatsby star on a Virgin Galactic flight into space. The package also includes the opportunity to spend three days training alongside DiCaprio in Mexico. Now if that isn’t an incentive to give to charity, we don’t know what is.

Interestingly enough, that wasn’t even the most expensive prize at the auction. Two other seats on the same shuttle went for $2.3 million, according to E!News. And then another $2.3 million went for an exclusive package to see DiCaprio’s new movie Wolf on Wall Street. And we complain about the local movie theater upping their prices!

Though the 2 million pricetag is sort of justified, considering that the package included two tickets to the premiere and afterparty of DiCaprio's upcoming drama 'Wolf on Wall Street' and an Oscar weekend that includes a room at the Beverly Hills Hotel, a Chopard watch, tickets to the Weinstein party and attending Elton John's annual viewing bash and Vanity Fair's party with Heidi Klum. That is definitely a long list of perks.

Heidi Klum probably deserves a mom of the year award after pulling her son Henry and one of his nannies out of the ocean and saving them from drowning. The terrifying incident occurred during Klum’s trip to Hawaii with her four kids – Henry, 7, Leni, 8, Johan, 6, and Lou, 3. Henry was apparently caught in a dangerous rip current, along with the nanny and Heidi immediately rushed to the rescue – not only for her son, but for the woman as well.

"Henry swam out of it. I grabbed him at the shore. The nannies were the ones in much deeper trouble," Klum told People magazine after the incident.

One of the most unsettling things for the 39-year-old supermodel was the fact that, instead of rushing to help, a number of bystanders on the beach simply pulled out their cameras and started taking pictures of the incident and of Heidi slipping out of her bikini top during the rescue operation. Of course, this now gives gossip blogs plenty of fodder for the coming days, but Heidi expressed her disappointment in her interview with People.

Heidi Klum is set to preside over one fourth of the 'America’s Got Talent' judging panel. The German-American model, after some last minute negotiations, is off to New Orleans, where the first auditions are being taped.

She’ll team up with judges Howie Mandel, Howard Stern and fellow newbie Mel B, who, like Klum, could be recognised by name in a picture of the set obtained and published by celebrity gossip site, TMZ. Heidi has been the host and chief judge on Project Runway since the fashion reality show debuted back in 2005, which will give her some experience on judging talent, but we’re not sure how she’ll fair when someone tries to pull a knife out of their…. Mum, or something. Talking of her fashion exploits, Klum will be doubly satisfied as Germany’s Next Top Model has finally premiered in Germany, a full two months after completion. The reason for the delay was their decision to film segments in Dubai. “It all started when I thought why not invite Heidi and the whole production team here in Dubai. I felt that I was part of their family since I have been working with them for six consecutive years and wanted to show them what Dubai was really like,” explained fashion designer Furne One.” So, after a series of discussions, we finally made it happen.”

Fresh from her recent court appearances, it was a disheveled looking Lindsay Lohan that took to the amFAR Awards red carpet in New York last night (February 6, 2013). The star has been in court again after allegations that she broke the terms of her probation by getting into another car-relates scrape. Various reports have been knocking around that she's struggling with the ongoing troubles in her life - albeit many of them self-inflicted - and she looked less than 100% last night.

Taylor Swift was among the big winners at the People's Choice Awards last night (January 9, 2013)

Taylor Swift and The Wanted were undoubtedly the biggest names to take home People's Choice Awards last night at the 39th annual version of the event. Taking place in Los Angeles, the ceremony was also notable for other guests including Paris Hilton, Julianne Hough, Naomi Watts and Lea Michele. The entirely fan-voted for awards saw Taylor Swift take home the Favorite Country Artist gong, though she once again found herself in a 'Kanye' situation as Olivia Munn initially refused to give her the statuette. It was all for play though, with Swift laughing "Oh God... this always happens!"

Following Heidi Klum's divorce from Seal, the model isn't harbouring any plans to re-marry or find a young man to wake up next to. She's been talking to Marie Claire about her lack of marital ambition. 

"No. No," Klum tells Marie Claire at the very mention of another marriage. "I wanted to keep the memory of our wedding alive every year, and that's why I thought it would be fun to get married over and over. But now I don't think it is that important." The Project Runway presenter added that she'd only consider getting married under special circumstances. "Maybe if I'm with someone for 15 or 20 years, and we do it in our old age as a fun thing to do," she says. "But I don't have the urgency anymore."

Considering her recent divorce from Seal, who, let's face it, is no spring chicken, Klum could be forgiven for wanting to try out some younger guys. But she's not keen on that, "because the truth is that when men get older, their shape changes," she told the magazine. "Younger men train more, and when the clothes come off, it is nice to look at a sexy, ripped body. But I am realistic. ... I don't think I could deal with waking up next to a 25-year-old."

Billboard chart-topper Rihanna is making the foray into the worlds of beauty, fashion and television by hosting her own reality show that challenges designers to make outfits for celebrities. Sound a bit too much like Project Runway? Well, that's because it is, but then there's the celebrity thing. Of course. 

Premiering in late 2013, 'Styled to Rock' will see 12 aspiring designers handpicked by the Grammy-award winner. They will be tasked with styling a celebrity guest on each episode (don't tell us: Katy Perry?) with Rihanna and the VIP choosing who should progress to the next round. "Fashion has always played an integral part in my life and career. I am so excited to partner with Style Network and share my creative insight with these 12 designers and give them this opportunity to showcase their work," Rihanna, 24, said in a statement. The series will be a version of the show of the same name that the singer road-toasted over the summer. Airing on Sky Living, that show featured Pussycat Dolls star Nicola Roberts, British fashion designer Henry Holland and Rihanna's stylist Lysa Cooper.

Despite her recent Billboard chart success with Unapologetic, it appears Rihanna is continuing to spread her wings in the entertainment industry and it's not difficult to envisage her filling a similar role to Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum on their respective model and fashion reality shows.
