Mixed by Mark Doyle
Released October 31st, Tokyo Project
On October 31st Tokyo Project release the first in a new series of compilations, showcasing the best in silk-soaked funky house and bass-fuelled entertainments. Tokyo Project is the latest venture from Hed Kandi creator Mark Doyle. After stellar success at Hed Kandi, Mark decided that the time had come to strike out on his own and founded Tokyo Project, creating a record label, live events business and a wider lifestyle media brand.
Tokyo Project's debut release 'The Collection', exudes the same relentless energy and exhilaration of the city in its title. Mixed by Mark, over three CDS it seamlessly blends together the biggest dance anthems of the year, coupled with a choice selection of more underground liquid house gems and a few dance classics dropped in for good measure.
From Bodyrocker's salacious, guitar-spiked anthem 'I Like The Way' to X Press 2's stunning 'Give It', featuring the vocals of the legendary Kurt Wagner. From the chart-bothering bounce of Freemason's 'Love On My Mind', to the velveteen vocals of Juliet's 'Avalon', 'The Collection' is teeming with this year's hottest house. And with the likes of Basement Jaxx, Axwell, Soul Central and Martin Solveig also putting in appearances, the track list reads like a who's who of dance music.
The legendary Jason Brooks provides the album's stunning artwork and Toyko Project are now gearing up to take the show on the road, with a series of nationwide launch parties planned, commencing at London's Neighbourhood on October 14th. This date will also mark the start of Tokyo Disco, a brand new monthly residency at the club and it promises to be a truly unique clubbing experience. On the night Neighbourhood will be transformed into a Japanese pleasure quarter with all manner of distractions to ensure your experience is a memorable one. DJs on the night will feature the cream of Tokyo Project's talent, including Mark Doyle, Eric Kupper and Hatty Lovehearts.
So if you like your house luxurious and your girls geisha make sure you pick up a copy of Tokyo Project's debut album 'The Collection', when it's released on October 31st.
