Sir Paul McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills feared she had cancer when doctors discovered a tumour on her leg following a skiing accident last year (11).
The former model, who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident in 1993, broke her right shoulder blade in several places after falling on the slopes during training with the British Disabled Ski Team in the Austrian Alps last May (12).
Doctors ruled she did not need surgery and Mills recovered at home.
However, she has now revealed a scan to check for injuries led to the discovery of a tumour on her leg which is amputated below the knee.
She tells Hello! magazine, "An Mri scan picked up a tumour in the top of my left leg, which is the same one I had amputated below the knee.
"Doctors said it had been there for some time. Thankfully, it was all fine. They told me the tumour was benign."
