The Harry Hill Movie has begun filming, with the film out by the end of the year.
Harry Hill is trying his hand at movie writing, with the TV Burp comic said to have begun filming on his first ever big screen attempt. The Harry Hill Movie has lined up a who's who of British comedy talent to star alongside Hill, who is staring in and co-writing the film.
Julie Walters, Matt Lucas, newly crowned BAFTA queen Sheridan Smith and Jim Broadbent are just some of the stars who have agreed to the film, with Walters starring as the comic's nan, and Lucas his estranged Alsatian-raised twin brother Otto. The film will see the funnyman embark on a road trip to Blackpool with his alcoholic grandmother after discovering that his hamster only has one week to live.
Harry Hill will hopefully release a more entertaining film than Keith Lemon managed.
If the first list of names wasn't enough, Inbetweeners star Simon Bird will also be appearing in the show - as a vet in hot pursuit of the two - as will Mighty Boosh star Julian Barratt and Nativity's Marc Wootton. Even indie group The Magic Numbers are going to be making an appearance.
Upon the announcement of that filming was to commence soon, Hill told the press; "I'm thrilled at last to be able to tell the world the true story of my hamster's struggle on the big screen and even more excited to be working with some of the comedy greats of the British film industry."
The Harry Hill Movie will be directed by Steve Bendelack (Mr Bean's Holiday) from a script by Hill, Jon Forster and James Lamont. It will hit UK cinemas at the end of 2013.
