Harrison Ford refused to let his security concerns following the bomb blasts at the Boston Marathon on Monday (15Apr13) wreck his baseball plans in Los Angeles.

As officials at all sporting events across America upped security in the wake of the explosions, which cost two people their lives and injured many more, Ford honoured his commitment to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers' Monday afternoon game against state rivals the San Diego Padres.

His moment on the mound was part of the promotional campaign around the release of new baseball film 42, which debuted at the top of the U.S. box office on Sunday (14Apr13).

Ford plays late Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey in the film.
