Movie-makers are hunting for a young Hannibal Lecter to play the serial killer in a prequel to Silence Of The Lambs.

The Weinstein Company, the production firm set up by HARVEY and BOB WEINSTEIN after their split from Miramax earlier this year (05), have snapped up the film rights to THOMAS HARRIS' next novel about the horrific killer.

Entitled BEHIND THE MASK, it charts the formative years of Lecter - played by SIR Anthony Hopkins in Silence Of The Lambs, Hannibal and Red Dragon.

Peter Webber has been hired to direct the film which will be called YOUNG HANNIBAL - and producers are searching for a 20-something star to convincingly portray Lecter.
