Actress Halle Berry's home intruder has been charged with felony stalking.
The former Bond girl obtained a temporary restraining order against Richard Franco on Tuesday (12Jul11), after he showed up at her Hollywood Hills estate three times in as many days and left her "panicking" and "extremely frightened" for her safety.
In a declaration submitted to Los Angeles County Superior Court, Berry describes how she feared for her life after finding Franco lurking just inches away from her.
She states, "All of a sudden I sensed someone behind me and turned to see the intruder standing less than a foot behind me, staring through my glass kitchen door.
"Panicking and in fear of my life, I turned my body and quickly hit the deadbolt lock on the glass door. I grabbed my phone and ran as fast as I could upstairs, slamming each door behind me as I ran."
This was on Monday (11Jul11) - two days after Berry first spotted the intruder in her gated backyard.
Franco was arrested on Monday (11Jul11) and on Wednesday (13Jul11) Los Angeles prosecutors charged him with stalking.
If convicted, he faces up to three years behind bars.
