Halle Berry sacrifices sleep to be a working mother.

The 'Extant' actress - who has seven-year-old daughter Nahla with ex-partner Gabriel Aubry and 20-month-old Maceo with husband Olivier Martinez - admits it is ''not easy'' juggling her personal and professional lives so she doesn't always get as much rest as she would like.

Asked how she juggles her busy life, she told HELLO! magazine: ''It's not easy I can tell you. I just forego sleep most days. It's exciting though.

''Being a mother of two kids, I wanted to find work where I don't have to travel so much any more.''

The 48-year-old beauty began work on 'Extant' shortly after Maceo was born and she admits she was unprepared for how busy she would be shooting a TV series rather than a movie.

She said: ''[The workload] hit me very quickly. For months I did 'drive-by nursing' every three hours.

''I don't think I've ever worked harder in my life.''

Halle adores her ''amazing'' children but admits there is a difference in the bond she has with her son and daughter.

She said: ''I do think there is a difference between my relationship with my daughter and with my son. I'm so grateful to be a mother to my amazing children. I am truly a proud mother.''

And the 'Monster's Ball' star feels more ''complete'' since having children.

She said: ''[Parenthood] has made me more complete as a person, no question about it

''You're responsible not just for you, but for the well-being of your children. It's a huge undertaking, but it's the most rewarding thing I've ever done.''
