Hailee Steinfeld has discussed the possibility of appearing in the highly anticipated movie 'The Hunger Games'.
HAILEE STEINFELD, the 14-year-old actress who gained critical acclaim for her performance in 'True Grit', says she may join the cast of 'The Hunger Games', reports MTV News.Steinfeld is reportedly in contention to play the coveted role of 'Katniss Everdeen' in the forthcoming movie and speaking on the red carpet at last night's Academy Awards, the actress said she is currently considering "a lot of projects" but did confirm that she has met with the movie's director Gary Ross. The 14-year-old added, "It's definitely something that we're taking one day at a time and making sure that everything is in place". The movie is based on the best-selling novel by SUZANNE COLLINS about a 16-year-old girl who lives in a post-apocalyptic world. The book's title refers to an annual televised event whereby one boy and one girl are chosen to fight to the death.
HAILEE STEINFELD was nominated for 'Best Supporting Actress' at yesterday's ceremony but eventually lost out to Melissa Leo. 'The Hunger Games' is slated to hit cinemas on March 23, 2012.
