Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is overcome with fear every time she suffers a cold - because she is terrified she may have the illness that killed her father. The Shakespeare In Love star was left devastated following the death of her filmmaker father Bruce Paltrow in 2002 after suffering complications from throat cancer and pneumonia.
And she admits his passing has left her petrified history will repeat itself and she will contract a deadly illness.
She tells Britain's Elle magazine, "To this day I'm faced with it (her father's death) all the time. I've had pneumonia twice in the past year and that's ultimately what he died of. There's a real emotional link to that.
"I've been dealing a lot with my own fear of death. And every time I get a cold now... So this is my new challenge, letting go of the fear."
