Gwyneth Paltrow has yet again found herself in the midst of a sea of derision over comments she has made about...well, life. Obviously there was the whole "conscious uncoupling" debacle, then there was the time she compared her internet struggles to real life war and then the constant use of ingredients like "mint flavored liquid chlorophyll" in recipes on her lifestyle blog, Goop.

The latest controversy? It's another Goop goof: after Gwyneth used her blog to announce her split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, all eyes have been on her online journal for more developments. This time, the 41 year-old Iron Man star talks about "the energy of consciousness" and suggests that water may be a sentient element with feelings.

"I am fascinated by the growing science behind the energy of consciousness and its effects on matter," Paltrow writes. "I have long had Dr. Emoto's coffee table book on how negativity changes the structure of water, how the molecules behave differently depending on the words or music being expressed around it," she adds, citing the work of Dr. Sadeghi, an entrepreneur who has been widely criticized for his theories.

Naturally, like many things the film star does, Paltrow's words have caused a lot of head-scratching and jeering articles. One actress musing on her slightly alternative beliefs is hardly cause for headlines but frame her words with the recent controversy she had courted and you build a picture of a star who is rapidly losing her credibility.

Gwyneth ruffled some seriously powerful feathers when she compared the cyber-bullying she endures to a military conflict in a speech at a web coding conference. "It's almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing, and then something is defined out of it," the actress said.

Her comments soon attracted criticism from the likes of Presidential candidate and Vietnam war vet John McCain: "Gweneth (sic) Paltrow is a joke. Her life is like taking bullets for a soldier. What a joke! My 2 sons serving in the military should talk to her... Perhaps Gweneth (sic) Paltrow should go out on patrol with some soldiers. Kind of like a red carpet in her mind I guess!" he tweeted.
