Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have announced their separation after 10 years of marriage.
The couple, who have children Apple, nine, and Moses, seven, have called time on their relationship after 10 years of marriage.
The pair announced their separation in a post entitled ''Conscious Uncoupling'' on Gwyneth's lifestyle website GOOP.com on Tuesday (25.03.14).
The former couple wrote: ''It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate.
''We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.
''We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been.''
The duo have appealed for privacy because they are ''parents first and foremost.''
They added: ''We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner. Love, Gwyneth & Chris.''
Last year, the Gwyneth, 41, admitted she and Chris, 37, had gone through ''terrible times'' together in the past.
She said: ''It's hard being married. You go through great times, you go through terrible times.''
