Gwyneth Paltrow and Martha Stewart have been at odds for the past few weeks after Steward criticised Paltrow's lifestyle website, GOOP. But Paltrow has finally spoken about the rivalry and claims she is flattered to be considered Stewart's competition.

The bad blood between the two started in September when Stewart was interviewed by Porter and criticised Paltrow for creating her own lifestyle website GOOP, as E! reports. 73-year-old Stewart said "She [Paltrow] just needs to be quiet - she's a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart."

The rivalry between Gwyneth Paltrow and Martha Stewart intensified this week when Paltrow hired Lisa Gersh, the former president and CEO of Martha Stewart Living, to managed GOOP. In a statement to Us Weekly, Paltrow described Gersh as "perfect" to "diversify our opportunities to bring Goop's positive energy directly to consumers".

However, the animosity between Stewart and 42-year-old Paltrow may simply be one sided as Paltrow does not appear to be harbouring any resentment towards Stewart. Indeed Paltrow, rather than taking offense to Stewart's comments, has found them complimentary. As E! reports, speaking at Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit on Tuesday (7th October), Paltrow said "If I'm really honest, I'm so psyched that she sees us as competition, I really am." Paltrow further made light of Stewart's comments, joking "No one has ever said anything bad about me before, so I'm shocked and devastated. I'll try to recover."
