Gwen Stefani was the first choice collaborator for Miley Cyrus' track with Britney Spears.

Songwriter Sean Garrett, who worked with the Wrecking Ball hitmaker on her latest album Bangerz, says the pop star originally wanted to approach the No Doubt frontwoman and Nicki Minaj to appear on the song Sms (Bangerz) before picking Spears

He tells MTV, "The first name that we tossed around was Gwen Stefani. We were talking about Gwen because you know Gwen got (sic) that edge too, but that's how God works. We were throwing around those ideas. Nicki (Minaj), we were talking about putting Nicki on there too. That would've been nuts too, but I think that's how God works."
