British film-maker Guy Ritchie insists his 2002 film SWEPT AWAY wasn't such a flop, because the MADONNA-starring movie made money.
Ritchie directed his pop-star wife in the remake of Lina Wertmuller's 1974 comedy. After the film was critically panned in America, the movie went straight to video in Ritchie's native Britain.
Ritchie says, "I don't think it's a great film but I don't think it's a bad film. We were due, the pair of us, for something of a dousing.
"That project was unique on several levels. I don't think my audience was interested in seeing a movie starring my wife and my wife's audience wasn't interested in seeing a movie directed by me.
"But one way or another, it made money."
