Latin Grammy Award winner Gustavo Cerati has died, aged 55.

The Argentine musician, who fronted rock act Soda Stereo, passed away on Thursday (04Sep14), according to multiple reports.

Cerati had been in a coma since suffering a stroke in May, 2010 after a show in Venezuela.

He formed Soda Stereo with bass player Zeta Bosio and drummer Charly Alberti in 1982, and the group became one of the biggest rock acts in Latin America.
