Rapper Guerilla Black Gets Nine Years For Credit Card Fraud

Rapper Guerilla Black has been sentenced to nine years behind bars for credit card fraud.

The You're the One hitmaker, real name Charles Tony Williamson, was arrested in January (13) amid accusations of federal conspiracy, unauthorised access to a protected computer to facilitate fraud, access device fraud, bank fraud and aggravated identity theft charges relating to his involvement in a major scam.

He pleaded guilty to all counts in July (13) and in a Seattle court in Washington on Friday (25Oct13) he was handed a nine-year stint behind bars.

Guerilla Black Pleads Guilty To Credit Card Fraud Scheme

Rapper Guerilla Black is facing a lengthy stint behind bars after pleading guilty to multiple counts of credit card fraud.

The hip-hop star, real name Charles Tony Williamson, was arrested in January (13) amid accusations of federal conspiracy, unauthorised access to a protected computer to facilitate fraud, access device fraud, bank fraud and aggravated identity theft charges relating to his involvement in a major scam.

Prosecutors claim the Compton, California native purchased over 27,000 stolen credit card numbers from computer hackers who had targetted restaurants and supply stores in the Seattle, Washington area. The illegal operations are alleged to have netted him $150,000 (£96,774) in swiped funds.

Rapper Guerilla Black Arrested In Credit Card Fraud Investigation

Rapper Guerilla Black has been arrested over his alleged involvement in a major credit card scam.

The hip-hop star, real name Charles Tony Williamson, was taken into custody in Los Angeles on Wednesday (16Jan13) by Manhattan Beach police officers as part of a multi-agency probe.

Five other suspects were arrested by authorities over allegations of credit card fraud and identify theft in illegal operations which are reported to have netted profits of $20,000 (£12,500)-a-month.

Guerilla Black Arrested On Fraud Charges

Rapper Guerilla Black has been arrested over his alleged involvement in a fraud scheme.

The hip-hop star, real name Charles Tony Williamson, was taken into custody at his Los Angeles home on Thursday (12Jul12) for reportedly buying and using information from credit cards allegedly stolen by two other assailants.

Federal prosecutors have mounted a 22-count case against Williamson and claim he stole at least $150,000 (£93,750) through more than 27,000 card numbers.

U.S. Attorney Jenny A. Durkan says, "We will prosecute all parts of the criminal gang - regardless of where they may be. I commend the cyber investigators of the Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force for making sure that all the participants - from the hackers to the end purchasers of stolen data - are held accountable."

Rap veterans the Beastie Boys are stepping into the world of virtual entertainment, by making their first appearance in a video game.

The trio will star in the upcoming NBA STREET V3 from EA SPORTS, representing their hometown team the NEW YORK KNICKS in three-on-three street-basketball action, reports MTV.COM.

The group's song AN OPEN LETTER TO NYC will be featured on the in-game soundtrack, along with tracks from De La Soul, Guerilla Black and others.
