Country star Gretchen Wilson is going back to school to impress her young daughter and teach her the value of a good education.
The singer dropped out of school in her native Illinois when she was 15 and launched her music career at 18.
But Wilson, now 37, is going back to her studies to further her education and gain her high school diploma, so she can set a good example to her 10 year old, Grace.
She says, "I'd been thinking about it for a long, long time, but mostly because of my daughter. I didn't want her to think education wasn't important... You really need an education, especially in this day and age."
However, Wilson reveals she's been attempting to go back to school for some time: "The last time I tried to go back and get my GED, they told me I couldn't because I wasn't at the age that I would have graduated at."
Wilson isn't the only celebrity parent looking to complete their school studies - actor Mark Wahlberg is also hoping to gain his diploma after returning to his study books.
