January 17th 2015 marked the most shocking celebrity death of the new year as Greg Plitt, star of Bravo show 'Work Out', was killed by a passing train in Burbank, Southern California while shooting footage for some unknown fitness project. Suicide was ruled out and friends expressed their shock at the occurrence of such a tragedy.

It seemed Plitt was on the actual train tracks when the accident occurred and, despite the fact that the train driver blared his horn in warning, he failed to move in time to save himself believing - according to Sgt. Scott Meadow as reported by Fox News - that the locomotive was on a different set of tracks. 'It's like a blind turn. When the train came, you might not be able to tell which set the train is on', Meadow reportedly said.

Meanwhile, it emerges that the two cameramen at the scene failed to present filming permits, though Plitt has reportedly filmed in the same spot before. 'A mistake was made', friend Warren Coulter told NBC Los Angeles. 'A simple, horrible, horrible, tragic mistake.'
