The American rockers - whose latest LP '21st Century Breakdown' was released last week -say they admire the rapper's creativity and musical ideas.
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said: "Looking at a guy like Eminem, the way he put his records out and how he does from character to character and how a lot of hip-hop artists use different names, conceptually, I think that's really important to put into records."
Billie Joe particularly enjoys listening to the hip-hop star's records because of Eminem's lyrical story-telling and ability to relate his records to his fans.
He explained: "I think that's why a lot of hip-hop records become so eventful. All of a sudden a character will come up, a dialogue will come up. The ambition of a lot of hip-hop records have, that's something I can relate to."
Eminem's eagerly-anticipated sixth studio album 'Relapse' was also released last week.
