Looks like 2017 is going to be a big year for Green Day. Following the release of their twelfth studio album 'Revolution Radio', the band will be embarking on a 24 date tour of North America, in between their shows in Europe and Australia.

Green DayGreen Day unveil their latest tour dates

Kicking off at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on March 1st, Green Day will be performing across the continent until April 8th 2017. Then they have six dates in Australia and New Zealand before the summer begins. All in celebration of their latest musical release.

Green Day have a series of sold-out shows in the US to complete between October 17th and 26th, but then it's full steam ahead for their European tour starting on January 10th in Turin, Italy. They'll be in Europe until February, before their major North America run begins in March.

Joining them on the US and Canada leg of their tour is Florida punk rock band Against Me!, who released seventh album (and the follow up to their critically acclaimed 'Transgender Dysphoria Blues') 'Shape Shift With Me' in September.

On July 1st, Green Day will be back in the UK to headline Barclaycard's British Summer Time Hyde Park in London, and there are rumours that they may even headline Glastonbury Festival - though we are no near to confirming those rumours just yet.

'Revolution Radio' is set to be released on October 7th 2016 through Reprise Records, and follows the single release of 'Bang Bang' earlier in the year. It's Green Day's first release as a trio since  2009's '21st Century Breakdown', with guitarist Jason White having worked with them on 2012 trilogy '¡Uno!', '¡Dos!' and '¡Tré!'.

More: Green Day to launch 'American Idiot' movie

More news from the band emerged recently, with them revealing that HBO have given the green light to a movie adaptation of their landmark album 'American Idiot', following the success of the Broadway musical of the same name.

The general ticket sale for the North American tour will be available on October 14th 2016.
