The drummer in tragedy-stricken rock band Great White has been injured in a car crash.

DERRICK PONTIER was involved in a three-car smash a few hours before a concert on Saturday night (27SEP03) in Pennsylvania, America. He was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital and released.

Police report that an oncoming car crossed the centre line and crashed into Pontier's vehicle, and the driver of that car is listed in a critical condition.

In February (03), Great White were performing at Rhode Island club THE STATION when a pyrotechnics display ignited a fire, killing 100, including the band's guitarist TY LONGLEY.

So far, the group have donated $37,000 (GBP23,125) to an organisation created to benefit the families of the victims and survivors of the blaze.
