Justin Bieber has shown off what appears to be a tiny new tattoo on his face.
The Canadian hitmaker posted a 'selfie' on Instagram.com ahead of his concert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday (07May16), when he displayed a small black mark next to his right eye.
"Resting up for the show in Philly it's gonna be a good one mark my words," the 22-year-old captioned the shot, not addressing the apparent new ink on his face.
Fans were quick to assume that the mark was a new piece of skin art, and celebrity tattoo artist Jonboy, from New York City shop West 4 Tattoo, seemingly confirmed it was real by sharing a photo of Bieber sporting the dark ink, along with a curiously red and swollen cheek.

Selena Gomez is urging the media to stop fixating on her past struggles.
The Come and Get It singer/actress hit a personal low in 2014 when she had to cancel a string of dates on her Australian tour, drawing criticism as she claimed she needed to spend some time on herself in order to "be the best person I can be".
She subsequently checked herself in to the Dawn at The Meadows treatment centre in Arizona to seek help, amid rumours she was battling substance abuse problems, but last year (15), she revealed the real reason for her rehab stay as she went public with her lupus diagnosis.
Selena has since bounced back from her health issues, and her career is now going from strength to strength, and she is keen to move the conversation on from her past problems.

Actress Charlize Theron hates the fact there is an "unrealistic standard" of what a woman over 40 should look like.
The Mad Max: Fury Road star celebrated the milestone birthday in August last year (15), but despite her flawless features, she admits to still feeling a pressure to look a certain way.
"We live in a society where women wilt and men age like fine wine," she told Britain's GQ magazine. "And, for a long time, women accepted it. We were waiting for society to change, but now we’re taking leadership. It would be a lie to say there is less worry for women as they get older than there is for men... It feels there’s this unrealistic standard of what a woman is supposed to look like when she’s over 40," she explains.
It isn't the first time the South African beauty has spoken out about ageism, as she confessed to German magazine TV Movie last year she has the same image hang ups as most women.

Actor Oscar Isaac Has Always Believed In Individuality, And Doesn't Want To Be Defined By His Ethnicity.
The 36-year-old was born in Guatemala to a Guatemalan mother and Cuban father, but was raised in Miami, Florida, and while his family was part of the Latin community, Oscar was taught from a young age to be his own person.
"For my father, individualism was very important, and he instilled that in me," he explained to the American edition of GQ. "It was way more important to recognise myself as an individual than as part of a group. I wasn't part of the 'Latino community.' I was just a kid in high school with friends, who was into playing music."
As he reached his teenage years, his straight-laced nature meant Oscar avoided the drugs and alcohol many of his peers enjoyed.

The veteran pop star attended the ceremony to present the Chancellor of the Exchequer with the magazine's Politician of the Year award, but he used the opportunity to criticise Osborne and the rest of the Conservative government for offering to take in 20,000 refugees from war torn Syria by 2020.
Before handing over the trophy, Geldof told Osborne, "I don't want to ambush you, George, I talked to you on the phone yesterday. But the government's response is inadequate. It can't be a numbers game. I don't know how that works out. It has to be a game of empathy and kindness."
