Country star Glen Campbell's trial date for assault and drunken driving has been set.

The WICHITA LINEMAN singer is accused of leaving the scene of an accident in Phoenix, Arizona, in November (03), after crashing his car and driving off. He is also charged with kneeing a police officer in the groin after being arrested.

The singer/songwriter will appear in court on 17 May (04) - he denies all charges.

Campbell faces a maximum of two years in jail if found guilty on the assault charge.
