Country singer Glen Campbell has vowed to give up alcohol following his traumatic 10-night jail sentence for last November's (03) drunken hit-and-run accident.
The RHINESTONE COWBOY star, 68, went to prison yesterday (01JUL04) for hitting a waiter's vehicle and is so disturbed by the experience he is determined to overcome his infamous drink habit.
Campbell - who claims he was "in a blackout mode" during the incident - says, "When I saw the mug shot, I said, 'Who is that guy?' Everybody says it's the devil, but it isn't, it's God's way of telling you to slow down."
The singer has also been ordered to serve 75 hours of community service but he has been given permission to rehearse for a series of concerts during his jail term.02/07/2004 17:17
