The 34 year-old supermodel will be big part of the sports apparel brand's new women's campaign.
Gisele Bundchen is hoping to take sports apparel and athletic equipment maker Under Amour to new heights as she has just signed a lucrative endorsement deal with the clothing brand to help popularize its booming women's line.
Bundchen is now part of Under Armour's women's campaign
The Brazilian beauty is now one of many celebrates and high-profile names to be affiliated with Under Amour, which includes her husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
The clothing brand made the announcement on Tuesday (Sept 2nd) by uploading a YouTube teaser video that showed Bundchen sporting Under Amour gear while walking into an empty loft with a heavy bag hanging from the ceiling. It ends with the caption "I WILL WHAT I WANT" and hints of another announcement taking place on Thursday.
The 34 year-old supermodel, whose husband signed a lucrative deal with the brand years ago that includes a minority ownership stake, will be part of Under Amour's women's campaign that already includes ballerina Misty Copeland, skier Lindsey Vonn, soccer player Kelley O'Hara and tennis player Sloane Stephens, according to ESPN.
The acquisition of Bundchen will have most likely been harder to secure than the other female athletes as she landed the No.1 spot on Forbes' annual list of the world's highest-paid models for the eight year in a row, last month. Bundchen earned $47 million in the last twelve months after securing lucrative ad campaigns for the likes of Chanel, H&M, and Carolina Herrera. Last December (2013), she was also announced as the new face for hair care brand Pantene.
Gisele and her husband Tom are now both signed to the sports apparel brand
Under Amour's women's line currently generates around $500 million in sales, which is 30% of their overall annual sales, and they will be hoping this will now increase after their new signing.
