Gisele Bundchen has been named the highest earning model of the last year by Forbes Magazine, earning an estimated $42 million (£27 million) over the course of the last year, according to the magazine. The Brazil-born beauty battled off competition from a number of high-profile models, including Miranda Kerr and Kate Moss, but managed to finished way ahead of her nearest competitor, earning even more than her mega-rich hubby; NFL star Tom Brady (who Forbes reckon earned $38.3 million last year).
Gisele Bundchen blew away her nearest competitors with some huge earnings
According to the magazine, Gisele earns a large portion of her cash from campaigns for such labels as H&M, Chanel and David Yurman, however it is her own merchandise, which includes lingerie, skin care and flip-flops, that has earned her the most significant portion of her massive takings. Not bad for someone who was pregnant for most of last year, with her and Brady having their second child together at the end of 2012. The earnings were estimated from between June 2012 and June 2013.
Miranda Kerr was second on the list
Missing out on the top spot by some way was Mrs Orlando Bloom; Miranda Kerr, who earned an estimated $7.2 million (£4.6m) in the last year, with the majority of her income coming from her contracts with Quantas, Mango and Victoria's Secret as well as her own cosmetics line and celebrity career in Asia. Behind her was Adriana Lima, with an estimated $6 mil (£3.8 m) coming into her bank account last year, whilst Kate Moss, who after decades of being one of the top models in the world, proved that she still is one of the top models in the world, with earnings of $5.7 mil ($3.6 m) over the last 12 months.

Finishing off the top five was Chinese model Liu Wen, with an estimated $4.3 mil (£2.8 m) in earnings over the last year, with the rest of the top ten only separated by $1 million. Hilary Rhoda was 6th ($4 m), Carolyn Murphy came 7th ($3.6 m), Joan Smalls 8th ($3.5 m) and Candice Swanepoel 9th ($3.3 m). David Walliams' wife Lara Stone finished 10th with $3.2 m (£2 m), although Forbes noted that her earnings dipped because she took time off to have her first child during the last year.
