The five-piece girl group formed in 2002 after they were put together on U.K. talent show Popstars: The Rivals, but they hit trouble the following year (03) when Cole was accused of a racially-aggravated assault on a toilet attendant at a club in Surrey, England.
Cole was later found guilty of punching Sophie Amogbokpa but cleared of any racial motive, and she was sentenced to 120 hours of community service.
Now Walsh has spoken out to reveal the incident was the final straw in their fractured relationship with their manager, alleging he walked away from the group shortly afterwards.
She tells U.K. Tv show This Morning, "Basically, obviously, you know, Cheryl got caught up in the whole incident in a club way back when - from that night on it was like, 'That's it, guys - you are on your own'. But we were on our own anyway, to be honest."
