Wonder Woman isn’t just the most iconic female super hero in comic-book land, she’s one of the most iconic super heroes full stop. So in this golden age of comic-book films and super hero movies, it’s about time we saw a female step into the protagonist role to save the earth from the evil geniuses that aim to bring it to its knees.

Gina CaranoEveryone seems to agree, Gina Carano is perfect for Wonder Woman

Nerds, pop culture feminist groups and movie buffs have been hankering for the heroine, who fights for justice, love, peace, and sexual equality, to get her shot at the big screen for a while now, but it’s the recent fan-made movie trailer that has added steam to the locomotive.

Rumored for a stab at the role is the all-actor actor Gina Carano, who just so happens to be a professional mixed martial arts fighter. Could there be anyone more suited to the role? Carano has spoken out about Wonder Woman in a recent interview with Comingsoon.net where she calls 'Wonder Women' "the ultimate superhero for a woman".

"No matter what, no matter who ends up being Wonder Woman someday, I just hope it's something that is done correctly. I know it's there and that it could definitely be done correctly. It's just a matter of getting the right people and having the right vision come together. A director and producer and writer have to see the beauty in it and make it real" she added.

With The Avengers, The Dark Knight Trilogy and the Iron Man films all garnering critical acclaim and raking in the cash at Box Offices around the globe, the market is clearly there for more action super hero films, but it’s important that the genre doesn’t grow stale, which is why a Wonder Woman movie would be more than welcome. And even if you aren’t into gender quality and forward thinking, the Wonder Woman story is just made for the silver screen!
