The Spring Breakers star plays a homeless, teenage mum in the movie and admits the content was physically and emotionally difficult to film - especially one scene, in which her character delivers a child.
She tells Eonline.com, "Every single day was definitely a challenge but one I embraced with open arms. It was just so thrilling to be able to push myself every day and see how far I could take it.

The High School Musical star also underwent a dramatic transformation to play tomboy Apple Bailey in the drama, hacking off her long hair and sporting fake piercings, and Hudgens admits the whole experience was an eye-opening one.
She says, "For Gimme Shelter, my character ends up at this pregnant, homeless teen shelter that's actually ran (sic) in New Jersey by a woman and I actually went and stayed in the shelter for two weeks before I started filming... I lived there with all the girls, with all the kids... you find so much more about yourself."
The High School Musical star underwent a dramatic transformation to play Apple Bailey in the film, hacking off her hair and sporting fake piercings. She also forced herself to feel "insecure" for three months during the shoot - but her intense preparations left her struggling to regain her confidence when the cameras stopped rolling.
Hudgens tells You magazine, "Apple is a really insecure character, so I was basically telling myself I was a piece of s**t for three months and it really affected me.
"After filming was finished, it took me a long time to get out of that way of thinking. I completely lost myself for a while."

LATEST: Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards insists he never snorted his father's ashes - his recent comments were made in "jest".
The Gimme Shelter guitarist can't believe people took him seriously after he told British music magazine NME he once snorted his dad BERT's ashes mixed with cocaine.
He said, "He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared.
"It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive."
However, Richard's manager JANE ROSE tells MTV.com that the hellraiser's comments were "said in jest. Can't believe anyone took (it) seriously."
LATEST: Courtney Love's estranged father has hit out at her claims he is responsible for the drug deaths of music festival goers in 1969, insisting she is trying to discredit a book he is writing about the death of her late husband Kurt Cobain.
Love recently claimed she was given acid as a four-year-old and raised allegations Hank Harrison made a bad batch of LSD that killed four revellers at California's Altamont Music Festival.
But Harrison is baffled by the claims.
He says, "Courtney is attempting to sully my reputation to nullify my credibility as a journalist and author. She has seen and read my book, LOVEKILLS: THE ASSASSINATION OF KURT COBAIN, and is petrified that it might come out by some major publisher, especially in the UK and Territories where she holds sway.
"How could any three year old (sic) child remember if she was given LSD or not? She wasn't.
"The deaths at Altamont are well documented in the film Gimme Shelter. THE Rolling Stones caused the riot, kept the crowd waiting four to five hours, and hired the Hells Angels to guard the stage - a certain formula for disaster.
"I was working as a technical documentation specialist and aerospace journalist at the time and had no contact with anyone even using LSD at that time.
"LSD, even bad LSD, is very difficult to make. I am a writer not a chemist. I wouldn't even attempt it."

Alameda, California police have closed the murder case into the death of a Rolling Stones fan 36 years after he was stabbed at a concert.
The Stones' 1969 free show at Altamont Speedway in San Francisco, California is remembered for all the wrong reasons - after teenager MEREDITH HUNTER died in a knife fight, which was captured on film in the 1970 documentary Gimme Shelter.
Initial investigations led police to believe Hunter was attacked and killed by a gang of Hells Angels motorcyclists, who were hired as security for the concert.
