Gillian Anderson doesn't want to marry her current partner Mark Griffiths because she worries it could ruin their relationship.
Gillian Anderson is worried she will become "trapped" in her current relationship.
The 42-year-old actress - who has been divorced twice, first from art director Clyde Klotz, whom she divorced after three years of marriage and secondly to Julian Ozanne, who she also split with after three years - is worried marriage to her latest partner Mark Griffiths would "switch" her opinion on their coupling, so is happy to remain out of wedlock.
She said: "I don't know if I'm bad marriage material. I've thought about it. I'm the Common denominator in two divorces. My current relationship seems the way it's meant to be. Part of me worries that if we marry a switch will be turned on inside me and I'll go, 'Aah, I'm trapped. I have to get out'."
The Chicago born actress - who has 16-year-old daughter Piper and two sons Oscar, four and Felix, two - also admits she was a wild child in her younger days and is glad she managed to come out The Other Side unscathed.
She said: "I needed to express myself. I was quite wild, promiscuous, drinking a lot. I was lucky to come out the other side."
