Spice Girls star Geri Halliwell is set to make a rare live solo performance in order to raise cash for a cancer charity. The singer is due to make an long overdue return to music with an upcoming fourth album, which is scheduled for release later this year. However, this will mark the first time that she's to the stage on her own since her debut tour in 2005 was axed due to poor ticket sales. Halliwell joined the rest of the Spice Girls to perform a brief snippet during the Olympic Games closing ceremony, and will be hoping that her return to the spotlight there will buoy interest in the new date. The singer's planning to put in a solo performance next month at an event in aid of Breast Cancer Care, ahead of a cameo in a West End musical.

The star is a patron of Breast Cancer Care and will be performing at the organisation's annual fashion show in London on October 3rd. She said, "I'm so excited, what an honour to be performing at the Breast Cancer Care fashion show." Her West End cameo will see Halliwell perform in the London stage show Singin' In The Rain as part of Children In Need's Pop Goes the Musical fundraiser later that month.
