Geri Halliwell's actor ex Jerry O'connell was recently barred from a Hollywood party for turning up with an unloaded gun.

The KANGAROO JACK star forgot to hand over his gun after leaving the set of his TV drama Crossing Jordan, in which he plays a cop, and a security guard found the weapon when he frisked him outside the party.

O'Connell says, "I rolled into the party in my suit and they were frisking people as they walked in and I wasn't thinking anything of it. And the guy frisked me and he was like, 'Yo man, what's this?' and I had my gun there and my badge.

"It's a real gun, but it's not loaded. I said, 'This isn't mine, you see I'm an actor,' and he was like, 'We have a gun, we have a gun.' I was running back to my car."

O'Connell managed to stash his TV gun in his car before returning to the party. He adds, "I came back and they wouldn't let me in the party. They thought I was like a hoodlum."
