'Selfie' is the Oxford English Dictionary 'Word of the Year' - and here's why
2013 is the year of the 'selfie,' the Oxford English Dictionary reckons at least, as the word used to describe a self-shot photograph has been named as the word of the year by the established dictionary authority. According to the Oxford English Dictionary web page, the decision to adopt selfie as word of the year was a " unanimous" decision, noting a 17,000 per cent increase in the usage of the word over the past 12 months.

Ladies and gentleman, avert your eyes! Geraldo Rivera took a break from Fox News to tweet a cheeky nude selfie but took the photo down for an unknown reason.
Mirror shots are usually the domain of insecure young girls, or those who have no friends to hold the camera to take the photo. "70 is the new 50 (Erica and family are going to be so pissed...but at my age...)" he tweeted, uploading a photo of him standing in front of his bathroom mirror in the buff, with a well-placed towel to cover his modesty and a pair of rather flashy rose-tinted shades on, in the original photo which can be seen reported by NY Daily News.
"70 Is The New 50"...It Sure Is Geraldo, It Sure Is.
However, it now seems that Rivera must have blanched after his original wave of confidence, deleting his original tweet.

The plot, which gives Jodie Foster schematics from space and focuses on the technical and bureaucratic minutiae that go into the construction of an extradimensional travelling device, is rather on the nose -- and the only real surprises in the film come from its obsession with God (in which the late Sagan did not believe) and the complete and utter disappointment received with the aliens are finally revealed.
