The Forgotten Review

Good
Wrap your brain around this one. It has been 14 months since grieving mother Telly Paretta (Julianne Moore) lost her son, Sam, in a plane crash that took the lives of 10 other children. She's been seeing a psychiatrist (Gary Sinise) on a regular basis, and the shrink has helped her cope with her sadness as the two discuss how difficult it is to let memories of loved ones fade.

Until one day, when all the physical mementos of Sam actually do disappear from Telly's life. Photo albums once filled with snapshots are now blank. Actual fade or Photoshop trick? Drawers that held baseball gloves and caps are now empty. Something wicked this way comes.

Message In A Bottle Review

Terrible
Most days I would love to be in the shoes of people in Hollywood. Much as participating in the play is every secret playwright's dream, and painting the picture is every secret photographer's dream, being in THE BIZ is the secret dream of every movie critic I know. We apply to film school. We try to make movies. Some of us even write them, such as Roger Ebert, author of the movie Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

But, one person to another, I wouldn't be in Robin Wright Penn's shoes if you paid me a million dollars.

Angel Eyes Review

Weak
He's an emotionless, lost soul wandering the streets and helping out strangers while looking for a clean razor and dry cleaner for his dirty overcoat. She's a pissed-off and lonely police chick who sleeps with her bulletproof vest on and enjoys beating up suspects, drinking Budweiser, and despising her abusive father. Together, these two misfits meet through some psychic mumbo-jumbo, learn to face down their inner demons, discover that true love does exist in this cruel world, and blah blah blah.

Jennifer Lopez and James Caviezel trudge with heavy hearts through the muck of suspense/drama/romantic comedy/love story Angel Eyes -- a film with an identity crisis that rivals Plato from Rebel with a Cause.

Tempting Fate Review

OK
This is as close as you'll get to seeing science fiction on the Lifetime Movie Network, a strange and not-terrible love story (natch) that takes us to another freakin' dimension! Tate Donovan is a doctor who gets a do-over at life when his buddy (Matt Craven) invents a machine that transports you to another dimension. Sure, he gets to hook up with perpetually-in-a-low-cut-blouse Grace Phillips, but how does he feel about all the nerve stapling and Running Man-like reality gaming? Not so good, as it turns out.

Instinct Review

OK
Hannibal Lecter, meet Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.

Sad but true, that's all it takes to boil down Instinct, a curious blend of thriller and feel-good prison movie that manages to somehow be neither.
