The Ice Bucket Challenge has claimed another victim. Sorry, *eager volunteer*.
The ALS Ice Bucket challenge is getting out of hand now. The latest celebrity/victim to take the online challenge in aid of ALS disease is *dramatic pause* former US president George W. Bush. We’ve seen a lot of the more free-spirited sides of George W. since the end of his presidency in 2008, but this takes it to a whole new level.
If you don’t know about the Ice Bucket Challenge yet, first of all, you poor thing, is there fresh water on that deserted island where you’re stranded? Second, how are you even reading this. And third, here’s some background on the whole thing.
The video, which has now been immortalized in GIF form across the internet, was a family affair, featuring Laura Bush The adorably awkward video starts with the former Commander in Chief explaining that he has been challenged by “several Americans”, including his daughter Jenna Bush Hager, but he does not think it’s presidential to be splashed with a bucket of water. Before he could write a check instead, Laura Bush stepped in and dumped a bucket of ice water on her not quite unsuspecting husband.
The ex-first lady then explained, in her best movie villain voice: “That check is for me. I don’t want to get my hair wet.”
How cute is that on a scale of one to George W’s puppy paintings? Next on the list: Bill Clinton.
