The planned Country Music Television (CMT) benefit for victims of Hurricane Katrina has been postponed - because of Hurricane Rita's imminent arrival on US shores.
The One Country show was due to take place on 01 October (05) at Houston, Texas' Reliant Stadium, with GEORGE STRAIT, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, Martina McBride and ZZ Top lined up to perform.
CMT and show organiser the Messina Group says in a statement, "The potential danger posed by Hurricane Rita and her aftermath will not allow the window of time necessary to create a show of this magnitude.
"The risks are too great to artists, vendors and volunteers to commit their efforts to this endeavour at this time."
Organisers are hopeful the event will be rescheduled. Ticket holders are being advised to keep their tickets as they will be honoured at a rescheduled show.
