Country music legend GEORGE STRAIT's final tour has kicked off on a high note - his first two shows were sell-outs and 77,000 tickets for a Houston, Texas show were snapped up in just two minutes.

The singer/songwriter announced his The Cowboy Rides Away Tour would be his final trek last year (12), and it seems fans are desperate to see him one last time.

Over 30,000 fans caught his shows in Lubbock, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma over the weekend (19-20Jan13), and when Strait headlines the final night of this year's Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo at Reliant Stadium on 17 March (13), he's almost assured a full house.

Many dates on the tour sold out only moments after going on sale.
