A representative for George Michael has denied the star was drunk at the Brit Awards on Tuesday (21Feb12) after he slurred his words while presenting the Album of the Year trophy to Adele.
The Faith hitmaker jetted back from a holiday in Australia to hand the night's most high-profile award to the Rolling In The Deep star for her hugely successful 21 record.
Michael sparked concern when he stumbled over his words and repeated himself as he announced Adele's name, but a spokesperson for the star has dismissed speculation he had been drinking, saying, "He was completely sober."
The star has suffered well-documented issues with drugs in the past and was recently hospitalised with severe bout of pneumonia.
